BOX
Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:57PM Today C learned how to read that word.
Yay?
We are moving tomorrow. TOMORROW. As in the day that follows TODAY. GAH!
We have boxes (BOXes!) coming out of our wahzoos, whatever those are (I'm not sure, but I'm positive there are boxes coming out of them), and yet we are still not done. How far are we from being done? I have no idea? We pack and pack and pack and still it seems we make not a dent. It's totally irrational and yet...why is it that there is still so much stuff to be packed into boxes (BOXes!) when we have already packed SO MANY (BOXes!)?
Yes, I am a little loopy. Why do you ask?
I am also sick (OF COURSE!). Cough, congestion, even some pain in the lungs for extra good sicky measure. My cough kept me up half the night yesterday, but because I was trying to cough quietly (trying to quietly cough when you are already coughing involuntarily is not very easy I'll have you know), my back is now KILLING me. I know it's not from packing because packing pain is in my lower back and I've been very careful about using my legs and all such nonesense. But my upper back right between my shoulder blades? OMG!
I have scoliosis and my back is pretty wacky and the pain just happens to be right at The Big Curve. (No, I'm not a hunchback, it curves to the side and my adolescent body compensated for the most part so I look normal except up close when I'm lying down because one rib cage is higher than the other. Also one clavicle sticks out just a little bit more than the other. And if you try to run you finger down my spine? WOWZAH is that some freaky stuff!)
Anyway. I'm sick. My back hurts. The BOXes go on and on and on, with no end in sight. Also, C is sick too! LA-FREAKING-DAH!
But tomorrow! TOMORROW! We move!
Our house is so darn cute! We visited yesterday so we could meet the owners and take care of some essential business that turned out to already be taken care of but I digress...Oh yes, the house! It is so cute! It is not as small as I imagined. It is still smaller than our place, but it will do just fine for us. And the owner gave me permission to plant a garden. And there is this tree in the back yard that has the most beautiful HUGE bright pink flowers, kind of somewhere between a gardenia and a peony, which I mean - WOAH! - gardenia + peony = Most Awesome Flower Ever.
Where was I? Oh yes, House. House is cute. The fireplace is a real wood fireplace. The kitchen is about the same size as the one we have now (meaning, TODAY THE LAST DAY). The kitchen window overlooks the yard. The boys' bedroom is larger than I remembered and so I no longer feel badly about making them room together so that we can have an office. The Office (Wheeee!) is a tiny little dot of a room but I don't care one bit beause again - OFFICE! Wheeeee!
There are two bathrooms, thank goodness.
The master is quite roomy, though kind of darker than the other rooms for some reason I can't quite figure out since it faces the same direction other much brighter rooms. Maybe the blinds were just closed.
Anyway, now I must return to packing. BOXes. Because holy crap the BOXes! They are waiting!
(Also, I apologize for the craziness of this post. I am tired. And sick. And in pain. And the BOXes. They wait.
